The New National Policy of Education 2020 highlighted the importance of universalizing quality Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) services to ensure that all students entering Grade I are school ready. 

Status of Pre-Primary Education in the State

During the year 2022-23, number of schools having Ka-Shreni Enrolment is 20519

Total number of students in Ka-Shreni is 226620.

Number of schools with Ka-Shreni but without AWC is 10952.

Number of schools with Ka-Shreni and AWC, within the same campus is 9567.

In the financial year 2022-23, 207 schools having Ka- Shreni were provided with child friendly furniture, outdoor play materials.

Teaching learning materials, activity calendar, drawing books, were provided to 219186 Ka-Shreni learners.

Picture story books were distributed among 20519 schools with Ka-Shreni.
